Cancelation Policy

By making your reservation for a class or program, you agree to the following:

Cancellation Policy:
We are unable to provide refunds once you book a class/program, unless we cancel. You may receive a credit toward another class if we are notified at least 3 business days prior to the start date/time of your class. Please email your change to paul@lacademieschool.com We will not issue a credit for cancellations received within 3 business days of the commencement of the class. You may send someone in your place to attend the class that you’ve purchased; please notify us of that change at least 24 hours prior to the class start time.

Please note the credit you receive for cancelling a workshop is redeemable for 3 months from the date of cancellation and cannot be extended.

We reserve the right to cancel a class or program. We will notify you by email and/or phone as far in advance as possible. We will issue a credit or refund if you wish; otherwise, we will transfer your reservation to a future class or program.

Our and Your Responsibilities:

Our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that you may have.

We strive to create a safe place to cook, but handling kitchen equipment and tools and hot items can be risky. You must dress appropriately for your own safety and for the safety of the other participants. We may not allow you to participate in a class or program if you are not appropriately attired. In particular:

We strongly recommend that you wear closed toe shoes with slip resistant soles. We will not be responsible if you get hurt or slip and fall because you are wearing inappropriate footwear.

We also strongly recommend that you do not wear shorts or loose clothing and, if you have long hair, please tie it back. We will provide you with an apron and the option to purchase a Chef Jacket with our Logo & your name embroidered on it.

Other Points:
We provide classes for adults and children; age restrictions are listed on the class registration page. We are happy to include teenagers (12-18) in our classes and programs if a parent or responsible adult is also a registered participant.

You can take home the food you prepared. Bring your own “Take Out” containers, because we do not provide them.
We provide all the necessary food items, recipes and tools to conduct the class. Simply bring yourself and your willingness to have fun and learn.

COVID-19 Policy:
L’Academie will follow guidelines as outlined by the State of AZ to the best of our ability.

We have made accommodations regarding social distancing by reducing our class sizes to no more than 10-12 participants per class.
Hand washing and sanitizing is required by every participant prior to start of the class and recommended during the class.

We will make every effort to sanitize all work surfaces as well as door handles and any other smooth surfaces prior to the start of the class.
Our employees will be required to wear masks at all times during the class.

We request that you do not register for a class if you have been diagnosed/exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days of the start of the class. L’Academie LLC is not legally responsible in any way or form if you feel that you have contracted COVID-19 by attending one of our services.
We recommend that you bring your own mask and/or gloves.
Wearing a mask is optional.

Liability Policy:
In consideration of participating in L’Academie Cooking School’s Workshop/Programs you acknowledge and understand the dangers and risks inherent in such activities related to preparing food, consuming certain foods and working with tools and appliances.

By signing yourself or others up for this class, you hereby waive, release, and discharge L’Academie Baking and Cooking School, L’Academie, LLC, its instructors, employees and volunteers against any and all claims, demands, action or causes of action for costs, expenses or damages to personal property or personal injury, or death, which may result from my participation in these activities.

In the event of any lawsuit, the parties agree to submit any dispute for resolution by arbitration through The Maricopa County Dispute Resolution Services of the Maricopa County Bar Association and any award rendered, if any, shall be final and conclusive to the parties.

You assume full responsibility for any injuries or damages resulting from your participation in this program including responsibility for using reasonable judgment in all phases of participation of the program.
You acknowledge that your participation is solely at your own risk, and that you assume full responsibility for any resulting injuries and damages.

You understand that it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate person in the workplace or event host(s) of emergency medical information and have informed the instructor of ANY food allergies/or dietary restrictions for your child or yourself.

You also understand that this Waiver of Liability and Release binds your heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns as well as yourself.
